Headin' West: Day 1-2

Adventure is worthwhile in itself.  Amelia Earhart.

Well . . . we finally made it back!  It was a hard ride!

I had not been on back of the Harley for more than 300 miles in a day before . . . and certainly not day after day (after day) of riding!  I have degenerative disc disease, so it was very hard for me to make the trip.  Needless to say, I did a lot of Reiki going down the highway!

It was also the first time I had been in a (huge) crowd in, well, I don't know when.  So I did have some trouble with my PTSD, being in a strange place with so many people.  But my husband was awesome (as usual)!  We worked through the challenges together, and once again, Reiki helped . . . a LOT!

This trip is without a doubt the "biggest" thing I have EVER done!  My husband planned the entire trip for me . . . and it was not only our Honeymoon, but also the adventure of a lifetime!  I could not imagine ever setting out on such an adventure without him beside me!  He is the love of my life, my best friend and my rock!  I thank God every day for my amazing life with James!

We have been back for about a week now.  It has taken me quite some time to get settled back in, and to go through the 20+ gigabytes of photos and videos that were taken by the two of us.  That's a lot of images!  I'd never been any further West than Nashville, Tennessee, so I saw a lot of new STUFF!

I thought I would try my hand at video-blogging, so I decided to upgrade my blog to include video . . .

I also spent a little time on YouTube after doing some research and learning that it's better to post my videos on my channel instead of uploading them directly to my blog.  I also had to find some royalty-free audio, and that took a little time.  But thanks to an artist by the name of Kevin MacLeod (, whose donation-only website has some awesome music available, that task was easy!  But this is a learning process, so bear with me!  : )

We have so many photos and videos that I would truly have a hard time deciding which photos to share with you.  I took a lot of snapshots from the back of the bike as we rode (flew) down the highway, so some of them are a bit blurry.  But I was actually quite shocked at how clear some of them turned out at 70+ miles per hour!  I also took some video from the back of the bike . . .

Those videos turned out kind of cool actually!  A bit shaky at times . . . but they still captured the fun!

I am working on a (huge) DVD project to make a video "album" of our vacation . . . so far I am on DVD number four, and counting.  In between DVDs, I have managed to put together some short videos to share with you.  I will post them as I get more videos put together.  And although I am not new to making memory videos, I am new to the whole video-blogging thing . . .

So I hope you enjoy them!  And please share your thoughts!  : )

I've tried to make the first video fun, so you can see days one and two of our travels.  We left Tennessee and went through Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Iowa and Nebraska the first two days.  We traveled nearly 1,200 miles!

We did have a few scares along the way, but nothing major.  We ran into a few accidents that, thanks to God for protecting us, we were not a part of.

The trip made me realize, that although I have never truly been afraid of dying, I am afraid of not living!
